The Work for Translators web-site is aimed at the development of relationships between the translation agency and freelance translators. It helps freelance translators, editors and linguists to get a job or additional earnings. The Flarus editors use profile data in selecting translators for large projects and in searching for translators and editors specialized in specific translation themes, as well as translators with knowledge of rare languages.
Why do translators need it?
The fact is that, much as we would like to, we are not able to work with all translators who send us their CVs. There are a few reasons. Some translators do not agree with the terms proposed by our agency, while others do not attain our "standards" imposed on new translators. The cooperation with some translators is broken up due to non-professional (not related to translation) reasons. Many translators are not ready to work with the translation agency, although at the beginning of cooperation they even have no idea of it.Taking into account the above-stated information, it gets obvious that we would be able to provide jobs to max 1-2% of all translators contacted us. But there is one more group of translators, cooperation with whom is not established due to quite a banal reason. Some translators are masters of so rare languages (for Russia) or translation themes that the cooperation, much as we would like to, can be absolutely inefficient, because the desired order can appear months and sometimes years later.
Freelance translators having filled in the application form once get permanent additional source of clients as translation agencies and end customers. Data on translators are searchable for all interested visitors.
