Upon cursory examination, the task to translate a financial document may seem easy and requiring very little effort and knowledge. Clear structure of the text and abundance of technical information may lead one to believe that translating such texts could not be simpler. In fact, the greatest challenge of financial translations is that, in addition to a high level of proficiency in the target language of the translation, the translator must know the details of requirements to various forms of documentation in different countries. Each country has its own peculiar requirements to accounting and bank records, special terms and abbreviations. Without such knowledge it is impossible to perform financial transactions.
Translation of financial / reporting / accounting documents requires the translator to meet certain standards of design adopted in the target language country. - Direction of the text: in some languages the text is written from right to left, in others - from left to right.
